British Gas Price Changes 2024. From 1 january 2024, the price cap will be set at an average £1,928 a year for a household paying by direct debit, up from the current rate of £1,834 a year based. From 1 april to 30 june 2024 the price for energy a typical household who use electricity and gas and pay by direct debit will go down to £1,690 per year.
This is £238 per year. Energy prices have dropped since the spring but are set to rise again in october when the new ofgem energy price cap comes into effect.
